British World Champion Sunny Edwards defends IBF Flyweight Title in Probellum Doubleheader

Sunny Edwards defends IBF Flyweight. Revolutionary Boxing promotion company ‘Probellum’, founded in September 2021 by Richard Schaefer, is staging back to back events on March 18 and 19 at the DutyFree Tennis Stadium in Dubai, the city which they believe can become the new home of boxing in years to come.

These events will be broadcasted live on Eurosport’s Linear channels (Eurosport 1 and 2), Eurosport Player and Discovery + in over 60 countries and territories as a result of a new groundbreaking deal signed last week. Viewers in Latin America can watch the doubleheader on ESPN KO while US and Canadian Viewers will have it available on Fubo Sports.

March 18: Estelle Mossely Defends IBO World Title

The first show of the doubleheader is headlined by unbeaten IBO Lightweight Champion France’s Estelle Mossely. She takes on top contender Argentina’s Yanina Del Carmen Lescano as she eyes the Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano winner before the end of 2022.

On Co-main, America’s O’Shaquie Foster takes on unbeaten Tajikistani Yaqubov in a WBC Super Featherweight World Title Eliminator for Oscar Valdez’s world title, which goes up in the air in his unification fight with Shakur Stevenson on April 30.

Also on that card, Super heavyweight Olympic Gold Medalist Bakhodir Jalolov takes on a tough test in Kamil Sokolowski over 8 rounds, Jono Carroll faces unbeaten Ghanian Patrick Aryee, Tom Hill gets a big opportunity to upset the apple cart against Rohan Date and top prospect Shabaz Masoud returns.

March 19: Sunny Edwards and Regis Prograis in Action

The Second show will be topped by IBF Flyweight World Champion Britain’s Sunny Edwards in his second title defence against Pakistan’s Muhammad Waseem (12-1). Edwards aims to land unification fights in 2022, particularly with Julio Cesar Martinez and is keeping busy in the meantime.

Former Super Lightweight World Champion, America’s Regis Prograis faces a somewhat ‘random’ matchup against Belfast’s Tyrone Mckenna. Prograis is a big favourite in this contest, which materialised after McKenna called out Prgrais last year on social media.

Furthermore, 2020 Olympian Liverpool’s Peter McGrail makes his Probellum debut against Uriel Lopez, Irish Southpaw TJ Doheny looks to go back to winning ways against Cejar Juarez who extended Jordan Gill 10 tough rounds in early 2021 and 2020 Olympic Bronze Medalist Hovhannes Bachkov looks to go 3-0 in his first 10-round fight.
