David Avanesyan Faces Undefeated Mandatory Challenger In London November Bout
Armenian-Russian David Avanesyan (29-3-1, 17 KOs) will make the sixth defence of his European Welterweight championship on November 26 in London on the undercard of WBA (Regular) Heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, a Frank Warren/Queensberry Promotions card live on BT Sport.

Avanesyan faces unbeaten Spanish mandatory challenger Jon Miguez (17-0-0, 8 KOs). Miguez, 25, has previously held the Spanish and European Union titles. In his most recent bout, Miguez stopped Britian’s James Moorcroft in Bilbao on a DAZN card and also holds a majority decision win against Aitor Nieto.
Spanish promoters ‘Boxeo Kamikaze Gestion’ initially won the purse bids but forfeited their rights to promote the fight by failing to provide a date/venue for the bout in the appropriate timeframe. As a result, the fight fell to the second-highest bidder in Warren/Queensberry.
Avanesyan has had one bout under the Queensberry/BT Sport banner in March of this year when he knocked out Oskari Metz inside a round in a huge mismatch at Wembley Arena. Miguez is a step-up from Metz but isn’t the big fights we want to see Avanesyan in and realistically the Spaniard shouldn’t give ‘Ava’ too many problems.
