Since his TKO loss to Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder has only given 1 written interview with Yahoo News but hadn’t yet been on video and spoken directly to his fans. Until now!
‘The Bronze Bomber’ suffered his first professional defeat in a vicious loss to ‘The Gypsy King’ with Tyson looking unbeatable while fighting the whole fight on the front foot.
Wilder posted a short video on his Twitter speaking directly to his fans, it’s clear to see that he could avenge his loss in their third fight if it does take place:
Wilder can be seen saying he will be back to “Regain the title”:
“‘Hello my people, my Bomb Squad army, my Bomb Squad nation, to all my loved ones around the world, I just want to let you know I am here.
“Your king is here. And we ain’t going nowhere, for the war has just begun. I will rise again. I am strong. I am a king, you can’t take my pride.
“I am a warrior. I am a king that will never give up. I’m a king that will fight to the death.
“And if anyone doesn’t understand that, don’t understand what it is to go to war, don’t understand what it is to fight, we will rise again.
“We will regain the title.
Wilder appeared to have suffered many injuries in the fight with critics instantly commenting that they thought he may have suffered a ‘Broken Jaw’ and ‘Ruptured Eardrum’
Since the fight ‘The Bronze Bomber’s’ team has said that he only endured a large cut to the inside of his ear which caused most of the bleeding viewers saw plus some minor swelling to his jaw.
Wilder had said in his only interview since the fight with Yahoo! News that actually, Fury didn’t hurt him at all and that the costume he wore into the ring was ‘Too Heavy’ which was why he didn’t perform well on the night.
Wilder has a 30-day window to activate the rematch clause in his contract and many sources report that Wilder’s management has already written a formal letter to do so.
Bob Arum who co-promotes Fury has said-
‘As far as Fury is concerned, and as far as Top Rank are concerned, we are men of our word. We have a contract and we are not running off to fight somebody else.
‘We are not breaking the contract and we are going to honor that contract with Wilder.’
So it looks like we may well be seeing a third fight between ‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘The Bronze Bomber’
