It has been confirmed today that Eddie Hearn has made Andy Ruiz a seven-figure offer to face Dillian Whyte. Matchroom’s social media platforms posted a video with Hearn saying:
‘We’ve made Andy Ruiz an offer, It’s a big seven-figure offer… but maybe he thinks it aint the right money for him because if Dillian loses to Andy Ruiz his world title dreams are shattered. If Ruiz loses two on the bounce he’s not in a great position’
The question is will Andy Ruiz take the fight coming off his lopsided point’s loss to Anthony Joshua in December. It’s a risky fight for both men, Should Ruiz win it puts him right back in the position for the PBC showdown with Deontay Wilder if Wilder is victorious against Tyson Fury in February. It seems like an unnecessary risk for Whyte who has already secured his mandatory shot at the winner of Wilder-Fury II for 2021. But Whyte-Ruiz would be a huge fight and fill a stadium in the UK and would most likely end up on PPV providing both men with a huge payday.
Will we see an Andy Ruiz-Dillian Whyte match up next? Is this the right fight for Ruiz? It seems Whyte is willing to roll the dice again.
