A Deontay Wilder interview with Joe Rogan has resurfaced from 2 years ago, and its a very interesting listen.
Deontay Wilder clashed with Tyson Fury last Saturday in Las Vegas for the second time where Deontay found himself not being able to compete with the ‘Gypsy Kings’ speed, brute strength or ring generalship and was dealt a TKO when his own corner threw in the white flag.
Since the fight a number of ‘The Bronze Bombers’ team and also his Head Trainer, Jay Diaz has given numerous interviews with an array of outlets mentioning reasons why they feel the now-former WBC Champ hadn’t performed as they (and everybody) had expected, one of those reasons was that they thought that the outfit Deontay wore during his ring entrance, which is believed to weigh around 40lbs was too heavy and weakened his legs before he even stepped foot in the ring. Deontay Wilder himself has also said this in his only interview so far since the fight with Yahoo!
In an interview with Joe Rogan on his JRE Podcast back in December 2018 Deontay is seen to be almost boasting that he regularly trains with a 45lb exercise vest on during any workout he completes… You would be within your right to think something just isn’t stacking up here…
‘The Bronze Bomber’ is known for his erratic fighting style and huge power in his right hand which has ended 41 of his 44 fights inside the distance but it didn’t seem to help him on Saturday night while sharing a ring again with Fury.
Many experts and Boxing fans from both sides of the pond have criticized Deontays ‘explanations’ for why he says he lost the fight with a large percentage completely disregarding them, what are your thoughts?
Was he just outgunned this time? Outclassed? Let us know in the comments section.
