Johnny Fisher Next Fight: Returns To London For The Second Time In 2022 Against Italian Opposition

Matchroom Boxing announced on Wednesday that The ‘Romford Bull’ Johnny Fisher (6-0, 5 KOs) will return to the ring on the 29th of October in London at the OVO Arena, Wembley.

The Matchroom Boxing card, which will be streamed live on DAZN, is headlined by Irish P4P star Katie Taylor and feature the European title contest between Jordan Gill and former two-time world champion Kiko Martinez.

One of the opponents under consideration for Fisher to face was fellow unbeaten heavyweight, Spain’s David Trallero (3-0, 1 KO). However, NoSmokeBoxing has now learnt that Fisher will instead face Italy’s Alfonso Damiani (5-2, 2 KOs).

The British Heavyweight has only competed twice this year after suffering a hand injury in his career toughest fight with Gabriel Enguema (10-11), which saw him go the distance for the first time back in February. Fisher came back in August with a second-round KO over Michal Reissinger (3-1).

Johnny Fisher is a big ticket seller and hopes to bring over 2,000 of his supporters to Wembley for this fight. Fisher’s father claimed that his son would be out three more times in the remainder of the year with all of them expected to be in the UK.

Matchroom is planning a show in Leeds for Josh Warrington‘s world title defence against Mexico’s Luis Alberto Lopez, potentially on the 10th of December.
