MEXICAN JULIO CESAR MARTINEZ BEATS JAY HARRIS IN A TOUGH DISTANCE FIGHT

Julio Cesar Martinez put his world title on the line facing a game and undefeated Jay Harris managing to get the nod with a Unanimous Decision.

Many didn’t give Harris much of a chance against the ferocious Fly-Weight Champion however he can be confident in saying he gave the fight everything he had. Harris overcame a nasty body shot which forced him to take a knee in the 10th.

Harris appeared to have a lot of swelling around both eyes from early on in the fight with Martinez not seeming to endure much damage at all if any.

Even though Martinez walked away with a unanimous win this was his first time he has been taken the distance in a fight in his professional career and there were a lot of close rounds which could have gone either way.

It really was a back and forth fight all the way through with action coming from both fighters, with this being Harris’s first loss can we see him come back later in his career and challenge for a world title again?

We hope so!
