Shakur Stevenson Has Missed Weight For His Next Fight Vs Robson Conceição: Fight Will Continue

In preparation for his 130 lbs Super Feather championship fight vs Robson Conceição, Shakur Stevenson failed to make weight and as a result, will be stripped of his WBC and WBO championship belts.

Stevenson came in at 131.6 lbs and stated that his body simply could not make the 130 lbs weight limit any longer and that his health is the priority. The titles will still be on the line for Brazilian contender Robson Conceição as he looks to capture a world title for the first time.

After this fight, Shakur Stevenson Is To Move Up To Light Weight Division

Now that Stevenson has missed weight for the first time, he will be moving up to the 135 lbs lightweight division in his following fight.

This comes to little surprise that he is moving up, as Shakur is on the bigger side of the super featherweight division, but it is disappointing to see the young fighter miss weight. However, now that he will be moving up to the lightweight division, there are a lot of exciting matchups that are now possible.

The 25-year-old is one of boxing’s best young stars and many fans would love to see how he matches up against the top of that division.

First, Stevenson will have to get the job done on Friday vs an Olympic gold medalist and lengthy contender Robson Conceição.
