You cant say that Kell Brook won’t fight anyone. Following a conversation with Terence Crawford – in America, Brit Kell Brook speculates his next bout being between the two fighters.
Though Brook was formerly the IBF Welterweight Champion until he lost his title to Errol Spence in 2017, he has competed more recently in the Super-Welterweight division. Weighing in at 147 pounds, Brook postulates that he can drop one weight class to Crawford’s division and be the first to break Crawford’s 36 win streak.
In discussions with Sky Sports, Brook informed Bob Arum – Crawford’s promoter – that he would be the man to beat Crawford and claimed Crawford is ready for the bout in a direct discussion between the fighters. Accepting the weight drop required, Brook jests stating, “The weight won’t be a problem…I’m going to have to get the steppers out, chase the kids around the house and that will help get the weight off.”
Aged 33, Brook dusted his gloves off after 14 months without a fight by knocking out American professional boxer, Mark DeLuca who now holds a record of 24-2-0.
With enough time to drop the weight and get into shape for the fight, Brook speaks about the location of the fight and his preferences. “It probably might be America, but I’ve heard them talk about Britain.” Brook explains that Arum expressed his attraction towards Britain being the fight location to which Brook states, “Bramall Lane. Have a win, it would be fantastic.”
Though nothing has been definitely confirmed, it seems highly likely to proceed once boxing is underway once again.
This will be a fight you won’t want to miss!
