Joseph Parker was set to challenge for Daniel Dubois’ IBF heavyweight title, but instead faced Martin Bakole when Dubois fell ill.

Joseph Parker added another victory to his recent highlight reel, as he stopped feared contender, Martin Bakole, in just the second round to retain his WBO interim title.

This marks just another win in Parker’s career, which has seen a second coming following his loss to Joe Joyce.

Parker now holds wins over Zhilei Zhang, Martin Bakole, and Deontay Wilder.

Though his plans for a second world title were put to bed for now as Dubois was forced to withdraw, Parker still has high hopes to become a two-time heavyweight champion, and is ready to go against either Dubois or Usyk.

Andy Lee says Parker should step aside for Dubois vs Usyk 2

In an interview with Boxing King Media, Parker’s trainer, Andy Lee, says:

“Even if it takes him sitting out and letting Dubois and Usyk fight, then he’ll sit out and fight the winner, then that’s what he should do.”

Usyk has already bested Dubois once, but due to some controversy with a low-blow, and Dubois’ marching into the ring following Usyk’s second win over Tyson Fury, it is clear the Ukrainian is seeking to put this rivalry to bed once and for all.

Despite this, many believe it is Parker who has earned a shot at Usyk’s crown, especially since he has not already been beaten by the pound-for-pound king.

Who has Joseph Parker lost to?

Parker now holds a record of 36-3. His first loss came at the hands of Anthony Joshua, who defeated Parker on points in Parker’s first attempt at unifying the world titles.

This loss came only two fights after Parker won his first world title against Andy Ruiz, who, as fate would have it, went on to defeat Joshua himself.

Parker’s next loss also came by decision to Dillian Whyte in 2018, and marked his second consecutive loss after the Joshua fight.

Parker’s third and final loss came four years after he faced Whyte when Joe Joyce became the first man to stop Parker in 2022.
