Who is Ben Whittaker fighting on the Usyk vs AJ undercard?
Ben Whittaker will take on the unbeaten Croat, Petar Nosic (6-0, 3KOs) on the Oleksandr Usyk Anthony Joshua 2 undercard.
How did his last fight go?
Ben Whittaker excelled in his last fight, stylishly dispatching Greg O’Neill in the second round in Bournemouth on July 30th. He will be hoping for another showreel performance in his second fight.
Where can we watch it?
As a member of Joshua’s 258 MGT stable and a Sky fighter, it’s no surprise to see Whittaker be deservedly given the highest of platforms to continue his fledgling, closely-followed career. It will be shown on the undercard before the PPV event.
What can we expect?
Whittaker is full of bravado in and out of the ring and is looking to build on the attention that his Olympic silver medal brought to the start of his professional career.
A mix of showmanship and a Kronk fighting style awaits fans on Saturday night (Whittaker fights under the tutelage of Sugarhill steward, whose father Manny pioneered the seek-and-destroy Kronk fighting style).
If his performance against O’Neill is anything to go by, we can expect fancy footwork to move in and out of range in a flash, nonchalant bobbing and weaving to highlight the extent to which he can make an opponent miss and an imposing jab to set up his heavy-handed power shots.
One thing is for certain, it will not be one to miss on the undercard.
