Hughie Fury vs Michael Hunter WBA Eliminator Fight Once Again POSTPONED

Hughie Fury vs Michael Hunter Off Again, Brit Not Fit For Oct 29

Per Sources, the WBA Heavyweight elimination bout between Manchester\’s Hughie Fury (26-3, 15 KOs) and American Michael Hunter (20-1-2, 14 KOs), scheduled for Saturday, October 29 at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England, has once again been postponed due to health problems suffered by the Brit.

NoSmokeBoxing understands that the illness which prevents Fury from competing on Oct 29 is a reoccurrence of the infection Fury suffered previously that prevented him from competing on the original July 2 date.

The clash between the WBA\’s #2 and #4 ranked contenders was to determine a mandatory challenger for the secondary WBA heavyweight title currently held by Daniel Dubois. Dubois is likely to return in a voluntary defence on November 26 in London.

Two of the fights pencilled in for that card (Mikael Lawal vs Deion Jumah and the return of heavyweight Frazer Clarke) have been rescheduled for a BOXXER London card in November live on Sky Sports.

The mandatory contest between Kaisee Benjamin and Dalton Smith, to which BOXXER won the purse bids, was also supposed to take place on Oct 29 and now that is without a date and makes little sense outside Sheffield or Birmingham. Bad luck for BOXXER/Sky once again.
