Eddie Hearn Confirms Taylor Serrano 2 Will NOT Be At Croke Park, May 20 Target Date

Katie Taylor Explores Alternative Options For Irish Homecoming as Serrano Rematch In Doubt

Jake Paul\’s Most Valuable Promotions, the promoter of Amanda Serrano, are looking for Amanda Serrano to return to the ring on August 13 on a Jake Paul Undercard likely on Showtime PPV, killing the immediate Katie Taylor rematch. Eddie Hearn\’s Matchroom Boxing attempted to offer Serrano the rematch in September at Croke Park but it seems Serrano has no interest in an immediate rematch to fans\’ disappointment.

Instead, it looks like Serrano will go down two divisions to her natural weight of featherweight and attempt to defend her unified titles there or look for a third belt. The Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano rematch could still happen in 2023 after Serrano gets a couple of wins but it would\’ve been ideal for the Katie Taylor homecoming in Ireland.

Where Does Katie Taylor Go Instead?

Katie Taylor still looks to box in September in her native Ireland with a likely date of September 24th. Matchroom/DAZN now have to look elsewhere for a worthy opponent that fits the billing of a major event. A Boxing/MMA crossover fight has long been talked about for Taylor which could see one of Cris Cyborg or Holly Holm.

In the boxing world, Undisputed Welterweight Champion Jessica McCaskill and Unified Super Lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron probably remain the strongest options but as it is likely Taylor can do well at Croke Park commercially without a top opponent we might see an easier fight and more of a \’showcase\’ that Taylor definitely deserves.
