LAST TIME OUT: Catterall, Prograis, McCormack & MORE
With Jack Catterall facing off against Regis Prograis this Saturday night in Manchester, atop an undercard of growing domestic talent, we’ll take a look back at the last performance of each fighter near the top of the undercard.
Jack Catterall
Jack Catterall (29-1) comes off a unanimous decision win in his much-anticipated rematch against Josh Taylor. ‘El Gato’ first fought Taylor in 2022, where he lost in what many fans believe to be one of the most controversial decisions in recent British boxing. Catterall has since been on a run of form against the likes of Darragh Foley and Jorge Linares, before avenging his sole career defeat in May this year.
Regis Prograis
Regis Prograis (29-2) comes off a demoralising unanimous-decision loss to Devin Haney, in which he failed to win a single round. Prograis was defending his WBC World Super Lightweight belt, but was unable to hold onto it after being outclassed by the challenger. Before that, Prograis won against Danielito Zorilla on a split-decision.
Reece Bellotti
Reece Bellotti (19-5) is set to face Michael Gomez Jr. following his recent five-fight win streak. His last few fights have seen him hand Aqib Fiaz and Liam Dillon the first defeats of their careers, and his most recent win comes in the form of a unanimous decision over Levi Giles. Bellotti seeks to defend his British & Commonwealth Super Featherweight titles.
Michael Gomez Jr.
Michael Gomez Jr. (21-1) has notably also beaten Levi Giles, though on a split-decision, back in 2023, though has since fought questionable opposition. In his last two fights, Gomez Jr. has defeated Kane Baker (19-10-2) and Joshua Ocampo (8-20-5). Gomez Jr. won the English Featherweight title in his last fight against Baker.
Pat McCormack
2016 Olympian, Pat McCormack (5-0) is set to return to the ring after a 15-month layoff due to injury. In his last fight, McCormack stopped the 14-4 Tony Dixon in the 4th round. Of his five victories, only has gone to the judge’s scorecards. McCormack will face Williams Andres Herrera on Saturday.
Williams Andres Herrera
Herrera (16-3) comes off a TKO win over 7-24-5 Jonathon Joel Casafu. This is the only win in Herrera’s last three fights, in which he lost by UD to Josh Wagner and by TKO to Paddy Donovan in January this year.
Campbell Hatton
The son of Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton, Campbell (14-1) is coming off his first career defeat to James Flint. Hatton lost on a unanimous decision, with the scorecards 95-97, 94-97, 92-98 in Flint’s favour. He is set to go into an immediate rematch with Flint, who himself has lost a fight since they first crossed paths in March.
James Flint
Flint (14-2-2) is set to rematch Campbell Hatton following his win over the Mancunian in March. He has since faced Kyle Boyd (6-1) who he lost to on a split-decision. Flint has spoken ahead of the rematch, stating that if Hatton loses the rematch his career is as good as over.
Joe McGrail, Junaid Bostan and William Crolla will also feature on Saturday night’s undercard.
