Leigh Wood Reveals He Is Entitled To 50% Split Against LSC vs Vargas Winner

Leigh Wood Claims He Wil Get 50% Split For Unified Featherweight Titles Should He Beat Lara

Leigh Wood revealed to IFL TV in an interview uploaded today that the reason the fight between himself and Leo Santa Cruz didn’t take place was due to the ordered WBA split which Wood’s team saw as unfair.

Wood stated that his promoters Matchroom and Santa Cruz’s representatives in the PBC agreed on a deal whereby Leo Santa Cruz could unify his WBA title with WBC champion Rey Vargas instead of having to fight a mandatory and Wood would get the winner of LSC vs Vargas.

Wood has revealed his split against the winner of Santa Cruz and Vargas is 50% of the total purse bid which is quite surprising considering he was only getting 25% should he have taken the Santa Cruz fight right now. Wood must come through his fight with Mauricio Lara first on September 24 in Nottingham.
