Stefy Bull, the manager/trainer of WBA Super Welterweight champion Terri Harper (13-1-1, 6 KOs), confirmed via Twitter that Eddie Hearn\’s Matchroom Boxing made a \”Large, High end 6 Figure Offer\” to the team of the IBF/WBC/WBO champion Natasha Jonas (13-2-1, 8 KOs) for an undisputed title bout on the DAZN platform.
Jonas responded, \”MR, big 6 figures? Oxymoron stop the (cap emoji, followed by two laughing face emojis) I\’ve been getting big 6 figures since I left. But we\’ll see\”. Jonas has since acknowledged to FightPost that an offer has been sent and is \’under consideration\’.
An all-British rematch between the #1 and #2 active boxers in the division for the undisputed titles is the logical fight for both fighters but from tweets/interviews from Team Jonas, Harper doesn\’t seem to be the focus due to the bad blood Jonas/trainer Joe Gallagher had with Matchroom/Hearn before leaving, although that has not stopped them from calling out Katie Taylor.
Other options for Jonas include undisputed welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill and undisputed middleweight champion Claressa Shields. It is understood that PFL commitments for Shields will rule her out of a boxing match until the second half of 2023, whilst McCaskill is a free agent so a fight between her and Jonas could materialise.
