Shields vs Marshall Officially Announced For September 10 In The Capital

Date:

BOXXER/Sky Sports Boxing, in association with Dmitry Salita Promotions, today officially announced Shields vs Marshall for Saturday, September 10 at The O2 Arena, Greenwich, London, England. Shields vs Marshall, dubbed ‘the most anticipated women’s fight of all time’ will be live on Sky Sports Boxing and NOT PPV.

NoSmokeBoxing reported in a controversial article that Claressa Shields vs Savannah Marshall should not be on PPV as it would limit the audience and not sell well and BOXXER/Sky Sports have delivered with the fight on regular Sky Sports subscription. Both parties must receive hefty praise for keeping this fight off PPV.

Shields vs Marshall: The Background

Shields and Marshall have history dating back to 2012. Savannah Marshall is the only boxer to ever defeat Claressa Shields, amateur or professional, and on September 10 she vows to do so again. This time it is not an amateur fight, Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall are two middleweight world champions in their prime and they rematch for all the belts on September 10.
