UNDERWHELMING: Sky Sports Boxing Viewing Figures Confirmed For Billam Smith vs Xhoxhaj Card

Sky Sports Boxing Viewing Figures Underperforms On Last BOXXER Card Of 2022

Per Nielsen ratings, Saturday night’s Sky Sports boxing card headlined by cruiserweights Chris Billam-Smith and Armend Xhoxhaj had an average viewing figure of 24,000 throughout the card on Sky Sports Main Event. The action peaked at 78,000 viewers.

Sky Sports Main Event was the only Sky Sports subscription channel whereby the card was shown. The boxing was also available on Freeview through the channels ‘Sky Sports Mix’ and ‘Sky Showcase’.

An audience of 10,000 viewed the card on Sky Sports Mix, peaking at 56,000. NoSmokeBoxing was not able to obtain Showcase viewership

The night’s highest-rated event on the subscription channel was Matchroom’s PDC World Championship Darts which recorded a 183,000 average and a 281,000 peak.

After several rating successes this year from BOXXER and Sky Sports, Saturday’s figures can only be described as underwhelming. These numbers should also serve as a proverbial ‘kick up the backside’ to make sure there is no complacency moving into 2023 after a very positive start to the new BOXXER/Sky partnership in 2022.
