TERENCE CRAWFORD VS KELL BROOK IS BOB ARUMS PLAN B

TopRank CEO Bob Arum has high hopes for a possible Welterweight clash in the United States between Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford.

Yet, on Tuesday, Arum revealed in an interview with iFLTV that it could be a long shot to get Pacquiao and Crawford in the same ring, which is why he already has a Plan B in place, which he mentioned was a showdown between Terence Crawford and Kell Brook.

Crawford unified the WBC, WBA, IBF, and, WBO titles at 140 pounds in 2017, and, has managed to keep a clean, undefeated record in his 12 years as a pro. His record currently stands at 36.0.0 with 27 KOs.

Brook has been working hard even though he doesn\’t have a confirmed fight with anyone and looks like he\’s lost a lot of weight, and maybe… just maybe, he will hit 147 and be competitive at the weight again. Crawford, who is set to turn 33 soon and has yet to compete this year, hasn\’t given any hints on which fight he would prefer out of Pacquaio or Brook, or any other fight for that matter.

At this point, both fights are up in the air. Arum hasn\’t yet even got a date or venue that is concrete, Arum has said \”It would be better to arrange a Crawford-Brook battle, but then it will have to be fought here in Las Vegas in the Bubble,\” Arum said.

It could be time for Arum and TopRank to pour their resources into creating the doable fight between Brook and Crawford rather than the one with no likelihood of succeeding with Pacquaio involved.

Nonetheless, Crawford\’s team concentrates on bringing together, at least in the near term, a big-money fight against Pacquiao – the only eight-division world champion in history.

\”At the start of July, we are focusing on Terence\’s war. Terence has a variety of choices\”, Bob Arum told the Talkbox podcast. \”We are pursuing a war against Pacquiao, even if it cannot happen, we are investigating a battle against Kell Brook.\”

Arum, who further co-promotes Tyson Fury, has a significant challenge to figure out a Crawford vs. Pacquiao fight deal.

Bob Arum seemingly still wants to try and pursue a war between Manny Pacquiao and Crawford but fans can\’t seem to think that he could just be wasting time when he could make other brilliant fights happen.

Something we can\’t forget is that there have been rumours of a fight in the near future between Manny Pacquaio and Conor McGregor, so, this could be the reason why a fight between Crawford and Pacquaio is so difficult to make.
