Ben Whittaker Injured, Expected To Return In March 2023

Ben Whittaker’s Injury Will See Him Sit Out Until March 2023 NoSmokeBoxing Understands

2020 Olympic silver medalist Ben Whittaker (2-0, 1 KOs) was late to his professional debut due to surgery on his right shoulder that had been affecting him for three years and saw him out of the ring for 11 months.

On his debut, Whittaker struck injury again despite only fighting for slightly over one round. The speculation was that Whittaker hurt his right shoulder after his second contest in Saudi Arabia where he fought with the injury.

NoSmokeBoxing understands that his right shoulder isn’t what is keeping him out of the ring at the moment and that instead, problems with his neck and disc will see Whittaker return to the squared circle in March 2023 at the earliest.

Ben Whittaker is often described as the best talent out of the 2020 Olympic team from the UK and there was a huge bidding war for him before he inked with Ben Shalom’s BOXXER/Sky Sports Boxing. However, with the injury-prone nature of Whittaker, he has struggled to gain the momentum he perhaps should have by now.
