Jessica McCaskill's Trainer/Manager DISMISSES Fight With Natasha Jonas

Jessica McCaskill’s Trainer DISMISSES Fight With Natasha Jonas

Ben Shalom, the promoter of unified super welterweight champion Natasha Jonas, suggested in multiple interviews that they want to make a fight with undisputed welterweight champion Jessica McCaskill next.

Rick Ramos Dismisses Potential Jessica McCaskill vs Natasha Jonas Fight

Rick Ramos, the trainer, manager and partner of McCaskill responded via social media to one of the clips where Shalom expressed this, Ramos stated that He “Would like to be 6’5″ and 200lbs (shrug emoji)” suggesting that Jonas vs McCaskill isn’t likely to come to fruition.

Jonas unified her titles with Marie Eve Dicaire on Saturday and now holds the IBF, WBC and WBO belts whilst rival Terri Harper has the WBA strap. Jonas and her team are however dismissive of an all-British rematch between the #1 and #2 active boxers in the division for the undisputed titles.

The Focus for the Liverpudlian is on McCaskill, Claressa Shields and Katie Taylor. Taylor is expected to rematch Amanda Serrano in the summer and even if she doesn’t, it is highly unlikely that Jonas lands that fight. It is also understood that PFL commitments for Shields will rule her out of a boxing match until the second half of 2023.

With McCaskill, Shields and Taylor seemingly off the table, a rematch between Harper and Jonas makes logical sense but whether it comes to fruition is yet to be determined.
