Fabio Wardley White Collar Opponent Had Car Crash On Way To Bout

After his destructive performance in the much-anticipated rematch with Frazer Clarke, Fabio Wardley’s reputation has skyrocketed amongst boxing fans, with many suggesting the likes of Jared Anderson, Otto Wallin, and Frank Sanchez as possible next opponents.

One of the most impressive things about Wardley, is that he had never even sparred until he was 20 years of age, and had only done four white-collar bouts before turning professional, yet not only fought to a draw against an Olympic bronze medallist, but stopped him in one round in their rematch.

To reach such heights with such little amateur pedigree has many fans wondering, who were the men who faced off against Wardley in his white-collar days, and what they make of his success.

Wardley’s White Collar Opponent Revealed

One of Wardley’s white-collar opponents, Eric Sutton, has spoken to NoSmokeBoxing about his boxing career, and about his time facing Wardley in the ring in Ipswich in 2016.

Sutton spoke on the bout, stating, ‘I am 5ft7 and 100kg, I had no business competing at heavyweight’.

When asked further about his bout against Wardley, Sutton said ‘Not really much to tell, I took it last minute, had a car crash on the way up there and it was over in two rounds’.

Sutton is just one of four white-collar opponents who have shared the ring with Fabio Wardley.

Sutton stated he has had around ‘350 unlicensed fights’.
