Whyte Franklin Undercard: Pat McCormack, Cheavon Clarke, Mark Dickinson, George Liddard Opponents Confirmed

Whyte Franklin Undercard Completed With Top Matchroom Prospects Featuring

2020 Olympian Cheavon Clarke (3-0) will face Argentina’s Jose Gregorio Ulrich (17-5) over 8 rounds at cruiserweight. Clarke has amassed 3 knockouts in his 3 pro bouts this year and has already shown an exciting style with the intention to quickly move through the ranks.

Ulrich held the WBC Latino title from 2016 to 2018 making four successful defences. The Argentinian’s last two contests were against world-rated fighters in Mateusz Masternak and Mike Perez, extending them both over six rounds. Putting 3-0 Clarke in with Ulrich is a big statement.

2020 Olympic silver medallist Pat McCormack (2-0) takes on Argentina’s Christian Nicols Andino (16-5-2) over 6 rounds at Welterweight. Andino, a former WBA Fedebol champion, has only been stopped once in 23 outings and marks a good learning fight for McCormack on paper.

McCormack is widely regarded as one of the best talents in British and world boxing. He competed at 69kg (152lbs) in the amateurs winning Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2019 European championships in addition to his Olympic achievement

Highly touted, Ben Davison-trained prospect Mark Dickinson (3-0) meets fellow Brit Gideon Onyenani (4-2) over 6 rounds at Middleweight. Dickinson, an eight-time national amateur champion and Team GB sensation, signed with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing (McCormack) in late October.

The 23-year-old North-East middleweight is considered as one of the best prospects in the country and many feel is destined to win a world championship at a 160-pounds. His opponent Onyenani extended 2020 Olympic gold medalist Herbert Sousa Conceicao the six-round distance on the Nov 11 Sunny Edwards-Felix Alvarado undercard.

4x national champion and ‘Matchroom Elite’ gym member George Liddard makes his professional debut against Bosnia and Herzegovina’s career journeyman Nikola Matic (18-50) over 4 rounds at middleweight. Liddard was supposed to enter the pro ranks on the Eubank Jr Benn undercard until that was unfortunately postponed.
