Callum Simpson is expected to fight for the European title this Summer in his hometown.
Callum Simpson has been kept highly active lately, with three fights and three wins since November last year, the last two coming just over a month apart from one another.
Simpson’s last fight saw the 17-0 fighter defeat Elvis Ahorgah via TKO in Round 5. The month before he stopped Steed Woodall, who had beaten Lerrone Richards, be TKO in Round 2.
Fans wait with anticipation for Simpson’s next fight, but no opponent or location has been announced.
Simpson to Fight at Oakwell Again
It has been reported by well-placed sources that Simpson is expected to fight on June 7th at Oakwell Football Ground.
Simpson has fought at Oakwell once before, when he faced Zak Chelli in November, winning by unanimous decision.
He is expected to step up from British level and fight for the European title against Ivan Zucco.
Zucco is 21-0 with 18 KO’s, whilst Simpson is 17-0 with 12 KO’s.
Zucco won the WBC International super middleweight title in 2022 against Marko Nikolic, and defended it against Britain’s Germaine Brown.
Brown is the only fighter to go ten rounds with Zucco, but strangely Zucco has never fought in a twelve-round fight.
His last ten-round contest was in 2023, and he has since fought in three six-round fights and one eight-round fight.
The fight has yet to be announced, and details are not confirmed, though it is expected that Simpson will make a hometown appearance this Summer.
