Dillian Whyte Warns Against Dubois-Chisora Fight: “He Might Actually Die”

Dillian Whyte has issued a stark warning against a potential showdown between Daniel Dubois and Derek Chisora, insisting that such a fight would be dangerous and unnecessary at this stage of both men’s careers.

This comes after the IBF have ordered Dubois to defend his world title against Chisora, meaning Chisora’s fiftieth and final fight may be a world title shot.

Chisora defeated Otto Wallin in an upset in his penultimate fight.

Dillian Whyte Warns Chisora: “Dubois Will Kill Derek”

Speaking candidly, Whyte—who has shared the ring with Chisora twice in two brutal affairs—didn’t hold back when asked about the matchup:

“No, he ain’t going to fight Derek Chisora. No. He [Dubois] ain’t going to fight, no. Dubois will kill Derek. He might actually die. Seriously,” Whyte told reporters. “There are bigger and better fights for Dubois to take right now. It’s just business. Derek Chisora is at the bottom of that list.”

Despite his age, Chisora has seen something of a resurgence in his career of late, with wins over Kubrat Pulev, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin in the past few years. The veteran brawler rolled back the years to grind out a decision victory against Wallin in his last fight, prompting talk of one last big payday.

In the ring after his win, Chisora held up cards of Usyk, Dubois, and Joshua, asking his fans who he should face in his final fight.

Chisora enlisted the help of UK rappers to ask fans who he should face next.

Dubois, meanwhile, is riding high after scoring a shock stoppage win over Joshua in Wembley. The 26-year-old has now re-established himself as one of the top young heavyweights in the world, with big fights ahead – namely a rematch with Usyk following the low-blow controversy of their first fight.

Whyte, who knows both men well, believes Chisora should not be anywhere near Dubois at this point.

Whyte and Chisora have a history of their own. Their 2016 clash ended in a split decision win for Whyte, while the rematch two years later saw him deliver a thunderous eleventh-round knockout. Whyte, currently plotting his own comeback, clearly still holds Chisora in high regard—but believes enough is enough.

With Dubois now among the most dangerous men in the division and Chisora nearing the twilight of his career, it remains to be seen whether the whispers of this potential matchup turn into anything more. If Whyte and the fans concerned for Chisora’s health have their way, it never will.
