Beterbiev vs Yarde To Take Place Jan 28 At The OVO, Wembley On BT Sport
WBO #1 Anthony Yarde improved his record to 23-2 tonight in Telford with a third-round knockout victory over Bulgaria’s Stefani Koykov (14-1).
Beterbiev vs Yarde Lands on BT
Following his win, it was officially announced that Artur Beterbiev (17-0, 17 KOs) will defend his WBC, WBO, and IBF light heavyweight titles against WBO mandatory challenger Yarde on January 28.
The unified light heavyweight championship bout will headline a Queensberry Promotions card in London at the OVO Arena, Wembley, and will be broadcast live on BT Sport (not BT Sport Box Office). Beterbiev vs. Yarde will also be televised by ESPN Plus in the United States.
Top Rank and Queensberry Promotions have a history of working closely together, so it’s no surprise that this fight was relatively easy to arrange, with Warren securing home advantage for Yarde.
It’s a very tough challenge for Yarde on January 28, as he faces what is arguably the hardest pound-for-pound puncher in boxing and one of the top two in the division.
Yarde will be hoping that his previous experience against Sergey Kovalev, along with the recurring injuries of the 37-year-old Beterbiev, will work in his favor.
