Caroline Dubois has raised concerns about whether one of boxing’s biggest promoters is still fully invested in the women’s side of the sport.
The rising lightweight star believes female fighters are not being given the same level of attention and opportunities as before, and took issue with one promoter in particular.
She pointed to a recent situation involving one of the sport’s biggest names – Katie Taylor. Dubois questioned why despite being a proven ticket-seller and a major draw, Taylor fought on Jake Paul’s MVP Promotions’ card instead of that of her own promoter. Dubois suggested this was a sign that priorities had shifted.
Caroline Dubois blasts Eddie Hearn
Dubois argued in an interview with iFL TV that Taylor is currently the only fighter—male or female—who can consistently fill stadiums. Yet, instead of getting the biggest fights through her promoter, Eddie Hearn she had to look elsewhere
“I have noticed about Eddie is that he doesn’t really care about female boxing anymore” she said.
She continued: “It took Katie Taylor going on to Jake Paul to get the money that she deserved. Why was Eddie not paying that?”
This comes ahead of Dubois’ bout with Bo Me Ri Shin, in the co-main event of the all-female Natasha Jonas vs Lauren Price card in the Royal Albert Hall tomorrow.
“That tells me his mind is not on female boxing anymore,” Dubois concluded.
Dubois’ opponent has an 18-2-3 record, losing only to the durable Delfine Persoon and a debutant in Thi Linh Tran.
While Eddie Hearn played a huge role in elevating women’s boxing, Dubois’ comments suggest that his interest may no longer be as strong as before, something he would certainly deny, having staged Katie Taylor’s biggest fight with Amanda Serrano.
With Taylor vs Serrano 3 recently announced to be on an MVP card in partnership with Netflix, some may see Dubois’ point on the matter, though many still believe Hearn has done a lot for female boxing, and that his interests remain in the sport.
Natasha Jonas confuses opponent for someone else in awkward clip
In the main event, Natasha Jonas will fight rising contender Lauren Price. Jonas sits at 16-2-1, with her two losses being against Katie Taylor and Viviane Obenauf, whilst Price bears an undefeated 8-0 record.
Jonas has held multiple welter and super welterweight world championships, whilst Price holds just the IBO. All will be on the line tomorrow night.

“You beat Becky Price not Lauren Price!”

In the build-up, though, an awkward moment occurred when in an interview with the pair, Jonas stated that she had beaten Price as an amateur, which Price denied.
It was revealed that Jonas had mistaken Lauren Price for another boxer, Becky Price, in an awkward moment between the pair.
