Sebastian Fundora DOUBTS Errol Spence After Seeing Training Footage

Sebastian Fundora was recently asked about the potential of a fight between himself and Errol Spence Jr. In the interview, Fundora spoke on training footage he’s seen and on Spence’s deterioration.

Spence comes off a devastating stoppage loss to Terence Crawford, who dominated the Texan in what many thought would be a 50-50 fight for the Undisputed welterweight title.

Fundora meanwhile comes off a career-best win against Tim Tszyu, winning the fight on a close split decision after a cut impaired Tszyu’s vision for much of the fight.

Crawford has since been scheduled to fight in August against Israil Madrimov, for the WBA title and WBO Interim title at Super welterweight.

In the interview, which was posted to Twitter, Fundora says he’s seen training footage of Spence, and said ‘The power, it could still be there it’s just, I’ve seen a couple videos of him doing mitts and all that… It’s just not the same anymore.’

The pair are said to have agreed to fight in October in Dallas, marking Errol Spence’s first fight since July 2023.

The aftermath of one of Spence Jr’s accidents.

Spence was set to face Manny Pacquiao in 2021, but due to a torn retina the fight was given to Yordenis Ugas instead, who beat Pacquiao on points. Errol Spence has suffered more than his fair share of injury, and was involved in not one but two serious car accidents, which many fans believe took a lot out of him in the ring.

It remains to be seen what version of Errol Spence we might see, especially after Spence has split from long-time trainer Derrick James following financial disputes.
