Manny Pacquiao Names KO Machine He’d Return to Face

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao may have hung up the gloves, but that hasn’t stopped fans from asking who he’d fight if he ever decided to return.

In a recent conversation with Seconds Out, Pacquiao was asked to name opponents he’d be interested in if he were to step back in the ring.

The 62-8-2 legend of the sport first mentioned a rematch with one of his most bitter rivals, Floyd Mayweather, who he was defeated by back in 2015.

However, there was one other name Pacquiao mentioned.

Pacquiao said in the interview:

“Either I can fight Floyd again, or I can fight anybody like Gervonta Davis,” he replied.

A rematch with Floyd Mayweather has long been a topic of fantasy for boxing fans ever since their record-breaking clash, though with his retirement in 2021, it seems neither this nor the match-up with Davis is likely to take place.

Davis is one of the most devastating knockout artists in boxing right now, and though Pacquiao had a legendary career, at the age of 46 it seems unlikely he’d fare well against ‘Tank’.

Pacquiao had spoken on returning to the ring after his retirement, with talk of Pac-Man even participating in the Olympics to represent the Philippines. This never took place, and aside from a few exhibition bouts, it seems unlikely Pacquiao will ever return to the pro game.
