Often described as ‘The Bible of Boxing’, The Ring Magazine has seen a significant resurgence since His Excellency Turki Alalshikh acquired the famous publication in November 2024. The acquisition, reportedly for approximately $10 million, marked a pivotal moment, with Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announcing plans to restore the magazine to its print format after a two-year hiatus and ensure its editorial independence. This move is part of a broader strategy by Saudi Arabia to deepen its involvement in the sport, and since the acquisition, The Ring has evolved from a neutral publication into an active promotional brand.
The Magazine has since seen multiple stars of the sport link up with the organisation, including Saul Canelo Alvarez, Naoya Inoue, Teofimo Lopez, and Jai Opetaia. Expanding its roster of influential figures, The Ring announced on April 16, 2025, that it had signed WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis, featherweight contender Bruce Carrington, rising lightweight contender Abdullah Mason, and heavyweight prospect Dainier Peró as its latest brand ambassadors.
Alongside their new partnership with TKO Group and Sela, announced on March 5, 2025, The Ring aims to provide boxing fans with some of the best boxing events in history. This partnership was later revealed to be under the “Zuffa Boxing” banner, with the inaugural event, “Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford – Once In A Lifetime,” scheduled for September 13, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium. The original article, published April 15, 2025, highlighted the highly anticipated clash between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn on April 26th as a significant event under this new era.

Eubank Jr. vs. Benn: A Rivalry Reignited and Resolved
The much-anticipated middleweight bout between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn, billed as “Fatal Fury,” took place as scheduled on April 26, 2025, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England. In a thrilling and often brutal twelve-round contest, Chris Eubank Jr., then 35, defeated Conor Benn, 28, by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the fight 116-112 in his favour. This marked the first professional defeat for Benn. The fight, a “Fight of the Year” contender, saw Eubank Jr. navigate a challenging rehydration clause that had caused him issues during the weigh-in, where he missed weight by 0.05 pounds and incurred a $500,000 penalty.
The intense rivalry between the sons of boxing legends Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, which had been building for years, culminated in a frenetic brawl. Despite Benn’s aggressive start and moments where he wobbled Eubank Jr., the more experienced fighter landed the more effective blows, with Benn looking on the brink of being stopped in the final minute. Following the decision, Eubank Jr. expressed relief and joy, while Benn, though courageous, appeared devastated.
The rivalry, however, was not over. A rematch between the two took place on November 15, 2025, once again at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In a reversal of fortunes, Conor Benn dominated the second encounter, dropping Eubank twice in the twelfth round and securing a unanimous decision victory with scorecards of 119-107, 116-110, and 118-108. After the fight, Benn declared the rivalry concluded, stating, “This is the end of the Benn-Eubank saga, over.”
Bruce Carrington And Dainier Peró Become Latest Ambassadors For The Ring
Undefeated fighters Bruce ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington and Dainier Peró have indeed been announced as the latest ambassadors for the publication, aligning with The Ring’s vision as they edge closer to monumental events. Featherweight Carrington, now 29 years old, has continued his impressive ascent since the article’s original publication. He is currently 17-0 in his professional career, picking up ten stoppage wins. The 27-year-old (at the time of the original article) turned over in 2021 following a decorated amateur career that was cut frustratingly short due to the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Brooklyn native was raised in the same neighbourhood that produced legendary fighters like Mike Tyson and Danny Jacobs, with him crediting his upbringing as the reason for his resilience and determination to succeed in the squared circle and inspire the next generation of athletes. Carrington has further solidified his status as a top contender, becoming the first man to stop Enrique Vivas on March 29, 2025, with a third-round stoppage. He then went on to win the WBC Interim World Featherweight championship by unanimous decision against Mateus Heita on July 26, 2025, and subsequently captured the WBC World Featherweight championship by defeating Carlos Castro via ninth-round knockout on January 31, 2026. Carrington is currently ranked No. 1 by both the WBC and WBO, No. 2 by the WBA, and No. 4 by the IBF, with his next scheduled defense against Palacios set for July 4, 2026.
Heavyweight Hope: Dainier Peró’s Unbeaten Run
Cuban-born heavyweight Peró, known as ‘The Fear’, is one of the latest line of big-hitting prospects expected to make waves over the coming years, with comparisons to Oleksandr Usyk despite his much larger frame. The 25-year-old (at the time of the original article) currently resides in Las Vegas, where he has picked up thirteen victories as a professional, ten of those coming by way of knockout since turning over in 2022. Peró has maintained his undefeated record, securing notable wins including a unanimous decision victory over Cesar Navarro on May 9, 202
