SHAKUR STEVENSON TO HEADLINE PPV ON ARTUR BETERBIEV VS DMITRY BIVOL CARD
Shakur Stevenson is set to feature as the last fight as part of the pay-per-view segment of the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol undisputed clash.
The headline bout between the two light-heavyweight giants will actually be broadcast free to the public on ESPN+, making Shakur Stevenson’s fight with Joe Cordina the last contest on PPV.
It will conclude the rest of the undercard which features names such as Jai Opetaia, Chris Eubank Jr, as well as the rematch for the British title between Fabio Wardley & Frazer Clarke. It also includes the likes of Ben Whittaker, Jack Massey and highly sought after WBC title fight between Skye Nicolson and Raven Chapman.
ARTUR BETERBIEV VS DMITRY BIVOL UNDERCARD PRICE
To view the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol on ESPN+, it will cost you $14.99 which comes after His Excellency, Turki Alalshikh announced he would reduce the cost of PPV events to increase the sport’s popularity.
According to Michael Benson via X (Formerly Twitter), His Excellency said that the cost of the PPV in the United Kingdom will match that of the US and worldwide which puts the price at £14.99. It’s unclear as of yet whether the main event will also be free to watch in the UK and will presumably be shown on TNT Sports & DAZN.
The undercard has been well received so far with some even saying that it is the best that Turki has put together so far.
Highly regarded boxing pundit, Adam Smith voiced his opinion to Seconds Out (via YouTube) on the event as a whole, explaining how the undercard will look to bring in more of the casual fanbase as he believes the main event doesn’t appeal massively to the general public.
This may be the reason why Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol is being shown for free by ESPN+ whilst the undercard is behind a paywall.
SHAKUR STEVENSON HEADLINING PPV BEFORE ARTUR BETERBIEV VS DMITRY BIVOL
With this news, Shakur Stevenson becomes the headline of the pay-per-view segment of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol for his WBC lightweight title fight against former IBF super featherweight champion, Joe Cordina.
Shakur comes into this fight off the back of two unanimous decision victories against Edwin De Los Santos and more recently, Artem Harutyunyan. His performances were deemed ‘lacklustre’ with fans calling for more excitement.
But despite how he performs, he still ends the fight with a comfortable win on his record. His style may not be for everyone, but it can be hugely effective in the ring.
Welshman, Joe Cordina however, is returning to the ring after losing his IBF title via TKO to Anthony Cacace – someone who will feature on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois.
Cordina looks to return to winning ways as he faces off against one of the most promising boxers in the world. Someone who is being eyed up by the likes of Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Devin Haney.
This will be the first fight since Shakur Stevenson made the move to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and fans will be eager to see what is lined up for him, should he overcome Cordina on October 12th.
