Dylan Cheema and Qais Ashfaq are both set to return to the ring on July 30th at Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on a BCB promotions card.
Cheema has signed a Boxxer deal and Ben Shalom’s promotional outfit has Billiam Smith Chamberlain that night in Bournemouth. But Cheema and his team have been given the chance to presumably headline, in front of a hometown card, where he could draw a raucous reception.
Dylan Cheema And Qais Ashfaq Return
Cheema won a 39-37 decision against journeyman, Stu Greener on the Eggington Zysk Sky card last month. He was fresh off the back of winning the Boxxer lightweight tournament and a bout with Adam Azim surely has to be a priority in the near future for Cheema, given Azim’s likelihood to move up a weight class soon.
Contrastingly, Qais Ashfaq was supposed to be one of the star attractions on the fledgling GBM shows at Magna Centre, Rotherham but drew criticism from the promoter, Izzy Asif for pulling out shortly before he was set to return to the ring for the first time since 2020.
Ashfaq’s high-level boxing IQ, flashy shot selection toolkit and status as a member of the 2016 Olympic team earned him Matchroom and 258 MGT backing. He will be keen to get back on track after defeat to Marc Leach and his extended period of inactivity.
