Fabio Wardley’s path to world honours has taken a major step forward following his brutal dispatching of Frazer Clarke last time out.
Wardley has been building momentum with impressive performances. His recent war with Frazer Clarke saw him defend his British and Commonwealth titles in a brutal yet thrilling contest. That win cemented his status as one of the most exciting rising stars in the division.
The undefeated British heavyweight is now in line for a shot at the WBA “Regular” title after the organisation’s latest ruling. If all goes to plan, 2025 could be the year he breaks onto the world stage.
Wardley, who also holds a win over David Adeleye, has not named his next opponent yet, or venue, but it seems the WBA Regular belt holder is the clear choice for the heavyweight contender to go down, and, as a lifelong Ipswich Town fan, it could even land in Portman Road stadium.

Fabio Wardley could face Kubrat Pulev for title next
Standing in his way is Kubrat Pulev, the seasoned Bulgarian contender. The WBA has ordered Pulev to defend his “Regular” title against Wardley, setting up a tough test. The winner will also be required to defend against Michael Hunter within 120 days, meaning Wardley could be in back-to-back high-profile fights.

The WBA has ordered Kubrat Pulev to defend his Regular title against the No. 1 contender Fabio Wardley next.

For Wardley, this is the biggest opportunity of his career so far. A win over Pulev would technically make him a world champion and would certainly elevate him to the upper levels of the heavyweight division.
Has Wardley knocked out every opponent he’s faced?
Though Wardley is a prolific knockout–artist, with 17 knockouts to his name, the Ipswich man has not stopped every opponent he’s faced.
Wardley’s debut came against then 8-17-2 Jakub Wojcik, who was defeated on points in a four-round contest.
Since this 2017 bout, however, Wardley has stopped every opponent he’s faced, except Clarke in their first encounter, where the pair fought to a split decision draw.
Wardley certainly made up for this in their rematch though.
