PBC Offer Callum Smith vs David Benavidez Fight as Eddie Hearn Signals Interest

Callum Smith vs David Benavidez has taken a major step forward, as Eddie Hearn confirmed in a Fight Hype video on YouTube that PBC (Premier Boxing Champions) have made a formal offer for the fight to take place in the United States. Negotiations are now active, with Hearn saying Smith is seriously considering the bout.

Callum Smith vs David Benavidez Negotiations Underway

Speaking this week, Eddie Hearn said:

“We’ve had an offer from PBC for Callum Smith to fight Benavidez. We’re negotiating with them at the moment. It’s a great fight, and we all know Benavidez is a great fighter — it’s not an easy fight at all.”

He continued:

“Callum was the Ring Magazine world champion at 168, and he’d love another shot at the title. There’s no easy championship at 175 — you’ve either got Bivol or Benavidez. So, there’s a very good chance Callum will take that fight, and we’ll be making our decision over the next one or two weeks.”

The offer arrives as Callum Smith rebuilds momentum after his January loss to unified champion Artur Beterbiev. The Liverpudlian has since picked up two straight wins a knockout of Carlos Galvan followed by a strong points win over Joshua Buatsi. A showdown with Benavidez would be his toughest test yet at light-heavyweight and a chance to push straight back into world title contention.

While no date has been locked in, the proposed U.S. venue and ongoing talks suggest movement is close. If accepted, Callum Smith vs David Benavidez could be one of the division’s standout matchups for the back half of the year.
