Queensberry DAZN ‘Groundbreaking’ Deal In The Works

It has been revealed that Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions are allegedly in talks to strike a Queensberry DAZN broadcast deal, as Warren’s TNT Sports contract soon comes to an end.

The deal, should it go through, would see Warren’s Queensberry on the same platform as his rival Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, and would significantly raise DAZN’s reputation as the platform for all things boxing.

News of the deal broke recently on Twitter, with TalkSport’s Michael Benson posting the following:

Eddie Hearn notably faced criticism after moving his promotional outfit from Sky Sports onto DAZN, with many suggesting the app was harder to use and wouldn’t be a hit as a result of it not being a household name like the domestic channels Sky Sports and BT Sports (now TNT Sports).

It seems as though this move has proven fruitful, with Hearn’s rival set to follow suit next year in what may be a mammoth Queensberry DAZN deal.

The 5v5 card marked the first of its kind, billing the two top promoters against one another.

The pair of promoters have recently been on fairly positive terms, with the Saudi boxing involvement fostering huge co-promotional cards such as the recent ‘5v5’ card, which pitted the two promoters against one another, and saw the likes of Daniel Dubois, Filip Hrgovic, Hamzah Sheeraz, Nick Ball, and Craig Williams represent their banner. Hearn has already confirmed more such cards are in the works.
