Tommy Frank vs Jay Harris Headlines Let’s Go Management Card In London

Sheffield’s Tommy Frank (15-2-1, 3 KOs) will defend his British Flyweight title against mandatory challenger Swansea’s Jay Harris (19-3, 10 KOs) on Friday, March 10 at the historic York Hall in London, England.

The fight will be promoted by Thirty6 Sport in association with Lee Eaton’s Let’s Go Management, the promoter of Harris, after Eaton and Frank’s promoter Dennis Hobson agreed on a deal for the fight. The broadcaster is yet to be confirmed but it will be the same one that will host several Let’s Go Management cards in the coming months.

Frank won the British title with a convincing points decision over Matt Windle in late 2021 after suffering back-to-back upset defeats to Mexico’s Rosendo Hugo Guarneros. Frank’s sole defence came against Craig Derbyshire earlier this year when they battled to a controversial draw in Rotherham with most having Derbyshire winning the fight.

Harris has competed at a much higher level, challenging for Julio Cesar Martinez‘s world title in 2020 as well as holding the European strap prior. However, consecutive stoppage losses to Ricardo Sandoval and Hector Flores have seen his career trajectory plummet and Harris now finds himself in a ‘must-win’ fight at domestic level.

Eddie Hearn has previously confirmed interest in matching Olympic champion Galal Yafai with the winner of Frank vs Harris. An all-British clash at the lower weights with two recognised names is a rare occurrence and Yafai/Hearn are unlikely to pass on the opportunity to challenge for the Lonsdale Belt in a marketable fight.
