Eddie Hearn Has Revealed That He’s Planning To Stage Fabio Wardley vs Nathan Gorman On Nov 26

Eddie Hearn revealed to Boxing Social in an interview today that he is looking to stage the vacant British Heavyweight title fight between Ipswich’s English champion Fabio Wardley (14-0, 13 KOs) and British title challenger Nathan Gorman (19-1, 13 KOs) on the Dillian Whyte undercard.

Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs) will return to the ring under the Matchroom Boxing and DAZN banner on the 26th of November at the OVO Arena, Wembley, London. NoSmokeBoxing has learnt that unbeaten, world-ranked American Heavyweight Jermaine Franklin (21-0, 14 KOs) is the most likely opponent for Whyte’s next fight.

The BBBofC ordered Wardley to face mandatory challenger Gorman for the English title in the summer. Hearn/Matchroom successfully requested for Wardley vs Gorman to be upgraded to the Britsh title, which was previously held by Joe Joyce and had not been defended for over 18 months.

Gorman previously challenged for the Lonsdale belt when he met Daniel Dubois in 2019 but suffered a largely uncompetitive 5th-round TKO defeat. It was widely known after the fight that Gorman had personal/family issues going into that bout and did not train as well as he would’ve liked or was as mentally prepared as he should’ve been.

Wardley, a white-collar fighter turned pro with no amateur experience, has impressed with his punch power, consistently blasting his opposition out early. The Ipswich fighter stopped domestic foe, Nick Webb, inside just one round at ‘Fight Camp‘ last year, a fight many saw as a 50-50 going in.

Wardley has now added trainer Ben Davison to his team and hopes to implement some more skill and technical ability in his game.
