The 29-year-old southpaw competes for the first time in over a year since his heavily controversial split decision loss at the hands of Scotland’s Josh Taylor for all of the marbles at 140-pounds.

NoSmokeBoxing was the first outlet to break that Catterall and Taylor were going to take part in a blockbuster PPV rematch at the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow on March 4.

Taylor, unfortunately, withdrew from the contest just days before the announcement and planned press conference with ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reporting that this was the result of a torn plantar fascia. A rematch is expected to now take part in the later summer and Catterall will stay active in the meantime on March 25.

No opponent was mentioned for Catterall but he has welcomed a clash with WBC champion Regis Prograis on social media. Shalom also revealed that Lawrence Okolie could defend his WBO cruiserweight title against mandatory challenger David Light on the bill.

NoSmokeBoxing understands that WBC, IBF, and WBO super welterweight champion Natasha Jonas (13-2-1, 8 KOs) may also return on the show. Belgium’s Femke Hermans (14-4, 5 KOs) is understood to be one of the options to face Jonas.

This week, Sky Sports posted an interview with Cecilia Brakehus where she spoke highly of the Liverpudlian and revealed she would be interested in fighting for the three belts Jonas has at 154. This could be another potential opponent for the unified champion. Braekhus is also the preferred opponent for WBA champion Terri Harper.
