Rafael Pedroza WITHDRAWS From Nick Ball Fight, Replacement Opponent CONFIRMED
A Source tells NoSmokeBoxing that unbeaten Panamanian Rafael Pedroza (13-0, 11 KOs) has withdrawn from his Featherweight bout with Liverpool’s Nick Ball (16-0, 9 KOs) that was supposed to headline the York Hall, Bethnal Green this Friday, November 11 live on BT Sport for Ball’s WBC Silver strap.
Pedraza Pulls Out, Nick Ball Gets Mexican Replacement
NSB understands that Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions has secured a replacement opponent in the form of Mexico’s Jesus Ramirez Rubio (20-1-3, 14 KOs) and the show will go on.
NSB was told on Friday that Ball’s team initially refused Rubio for being too much of a risk on short notice, but the opponent has now been accepted.
Rubio, a super bantamweight moving up, has only one defeat – a stoppage loss to Cesar Saucedo Gonzalez, who was 6-4-1 at the time, back in 2017.
The Mexican doesn’t have any notable names on his resume but Brits are all too familiar with underestimating unknown Mexican punchers and Ball should not be making that mistake on Friday night.
