Bruce Carrington And Dainier Pero Become Latest Ambassadors For The Ring

Undefeated fighters Bruce ‘Shu Shu’ Carrington and Dainier Peró have been announced as the latest ambassadors for the publication as they edge closer to a monumental event including an American mega card including Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia.

Featherweight Carrington is currently 15-0 in his professional career picking up nine stoppage wins in his career. The 27-year old turned over in 2021 following a decorated amateur career that was cut frustratingly short due to the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Brooklyn native was raised in the same neighbourhood that produced legendary fighters like Mike Tyson and Danny Jacobs, with him crediting his upbringing as the reason for his resilience and determination to succeed in the squared circle and inspire the next generation of athletes.

Cuban born heavyweight Pero is one of the latest line of big hitting prospects expected to make waves over the coming years, with comparisons to Oleksandr Usyk despite his much larger frame.

The 25-year old currently resided in Las Vegas where he has picked up ten victories as a professional, eight of those coming by way of knockout since turning over in 2022.

Known as ‘The Fear’ he produced a stellar amateur career with gold medals 2016 AIBA Youth World Championships, 2019 Pan American Games and a quarter-final appearance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics losing to eventual silver medalist Richard Torrez Jr.

The two-time Cuban National Champion currently trains with 2022 The Ring Magazine and Sports Illustrated trainer of the year Bob Santos, who has described the heavyweight as one of the most talented fighters he’s ever worked with.
